On February 23rd, a meeting took place at the office of the Austrian Gymnastics Federation with the Secretary-General of the Federation, Robert Labner. The atmosphere of the assembly was warm and constructive. During the meeting, Secretary-General Robert Labner elaborated extensively on the structure of the Gymnastics Federation, its key partners, and the functioning of organized sports in Austria.
Mr. Labner also spoke about the achievements of Austrian gymnastics, particularly highlighting the top athletes in rhythmic gymnastics over the past 20 years, Nicol Ruprecht and Caroline Weber, who have represented Austria at the Olympic Games. It is of great significance that the new generation of gymnasts can continue these exemplary traditions, and the Gymnastics Federation will support them by creating optimal conditions.
Sports agent Stephan Lendyel shared his international experiences in the field of sports, including collaboration with the International Olympic Committee in franchise projects of IMG (International Management Group) for obtaining Olympic licenses. Mr. Lendyel also provided detailed insights into marketing opportunities to promote gymnastics through major endorsement deals with Olympic champions in artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics. He emphasized that it is a great honor to collaborate with the Gymnastics Federation and contribute his international expertise to Austria.
Both parties underscored the importance of utilizing all forms, including innovative ones, to popularize gymnastics for its development. Building on the positive experience of an open class and a master class by Arina and Dina Mironskaya in Salzburg, there is discussion about continuing such activities in other cities in Austria. These events hold significant social value for the education of youth and the upcoming generation, as well as fostering their enthusiasm for sports.
Both sides agreed to continue their close collaboration to promote gymnastics in Austria and showcase Austria on the international sports stage. In particular, they planned to have another meeting in March to discuss potential dates and locations for a major international rhythmic gymnastics tournament, with the intention of including it in the international sports calendar after evaluating the format of international competitions.
